Preparing Scripts for Festival & Competition Submission

This virtual screenwriting workshop is designed for writers who want to move beyond early drafts and develop polished, submission-ready material for screenplay festivals and competitions.

 

The class focuses on strengthening the elements that matter most to readers and juries:

  • Character clarity and emotional specificity

  • Scene construction and subtext

  • Dramatic tension and narrative momentum

  • Professional-level polish and presentation

Writers work on their own scripts while learning how to evaluate material through a competition-reader lens—without sacrificing originality or voice.

What You’ll Work On

  • A feature or episodic screenplay-in-progress

  • One fully developed, submission-ready scene (15–20 minutes)

  • Craft tools applicable across drafts and future submissions

Format & Schedule

  • Virtual workshop

  • Tuesdays: 6:00–7:30 PM (EST)

  • Saturdays: 1:00–4:00 PM (EST)

  • Start Date: February 3

  • Small-group setting with limited enrollment

Class Fee

$500 full in advance
